XBox One as a media center

I'm trying to decide what to buy, a PS4 or an XBox one. I don't play alot of video games at home or at work for that fact (I work for Electronic Arts). So I've been leaning towards the XBox One due to it's intent on being a media center.

In doing my regular research into new technology I've been looking at new languages that have a smaller footprint than Java/Grails/.NET which tend to be my go-to languages. When I create side projects they tend to be free and therefore I don't have the money for servers that have 8Gb of RAM to run smoothly. Therefore I'm interested in what my options for something lightweight might be for creating service oriented architectures

I love books but I hate buying technology books because they are out dated months after they are written. So I have been going down the not so ethical path of downloading the PDF version from a great website. The problem I have is that I need my laptop/computer to read them.


My server died and has been resurrected

I got a nice phone call yesterday morning. "Hello sir, your server is experiencing hardware failure...you need to backup everything ASAP!" Mid backup they proceeded to create a new server for me and copy over my previous data into a backup folder
