I've always had a love for arabic/Islamic calligraphy but haven't been able to find a teacher. So the best way I have figured to learn calligraphy is through imitation. I love the work of Wissam Shaukat. The following is my attempt at imitating one of his pieces. It's close but not quite. I really need to work on getting the longer lines smoother.

Traditional arts in a digital age

Being a man of the digital age, I am quite dependent on the Undo key. Make a mistake. No problem...undo it in some way shape or form. I recently ventured into the world of Arabic calligraphy and worked on a piece of "art" that I was really trying to do a good job on. It was a piece for Sameeta's birthday so the pressure was on!
